Premier’s commitment and performance
in environment has been recognised by several awards. For example:
- 1998 - Premier Coal won the south-west Western
Australia 3R (Reduce, Resuse, Recycle) Waste Management
Award;
- 1999 - runners up in the WA Office of Energy
Awards;
- 1999 - benchmarked by the Australian Geological
Survey Organisation as the most energy efficient coal mine
of our class, in Australia;
- 2002 - second in the WA State Environment
Awards (to the over all State winner), entered in Category
2, Business and Industry Leadership and Responsibility,
with our entry titled Leading Sustainable Mining Practices;
